In the 1950s, this business was one of eight appliance businesses located in Columbia: today it is the only appliance business in Columbia. 

In 1955, Bob Lindenberger joined his father-in-law in the business. The founder's son, Robert Graham, Jr., also joined the family business. At about the same time, Graham decided to build a new two-story showroom and shop at 524 South Ninth Street. 

In 1981, a desire to diversify brought Ed and Steve Lindenberger, sons of Bob, into the business. Their plumbing and heating skills proved to be a great asset to the company's future growth. As business increased, space became a problem.

Ed and Steve began searching for a new location, but were unsuccessful until they found a building that was 10,000 square feet and needed to be totally renovated to fit their needs. They spent many long hours renovating the building, doing most of the work themselves.

In 1990, they opened their new building at 602 South 16th Street, Columbia, which has a large showroom to display a good selection of appliances. There is also space to show complete bathrooms and heating equipment.

Today, R.L. Graham & Sons Inc offers plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and appliance sales and service. Why pay for more than one service call, when "one call does it all!"
